The Third Book of Moses, called Leviticus

Chapter 9

1

And it came to pass on the eighth day, [that] Moses called1 Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;

2

And he said4 unto Aaron, Take3 thee a young calf 1121 1241 for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer54 [them] before the LORD.

3

And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak,17 saying,2 Take3 ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, [both] of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering;

4

Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice2 before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled7 with oil: for to day the LORD will appear8 unto you.

5

And they brought4 [that] which Moses commanded14 before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near4 and stood4 before the LORD.

6

And Moses said,4 This [is] the thing which the LORD commanded14 that ye should do:4 and the glory of the LORD shall appear11 unto you.

7

And Moses said4 unto Aaron, Go3 unto the altar, and offer3 thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement16 for thyself, and for the people: and offer3 the offering of the people, and make an atonement16 for them; as the LORD commanded.14

8

Aaron therefore went4 unto the altar, and slew4 the calf of the sin offering, which [was] for himself.

9

And the sons of Aaron brought55 the blood unto him: and he dipped4 his finger in the blood, and put4 [it] upon the horns of the altar, and poured1 out the blood at the bottom of the altar:

10

But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt52 upon the altar; as the LORD commanded14 Moses.

11

And the flesh and the hide he burnt1 with fire without the camp.

12

And he slew4 the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons presented55 unto him the blood, which he sprinkled4 round about upon the altar.

13

And they presented52 the burnt offering unto him, with the pieces thereof, and the head: and he burnt55 [them] upon the altar.

14

And he did wash4 the inwards and the legs, and burnt55 [them] upon the burnt offering on the altar.

15

And he brought55 the people's offering, and took4 the goat, which [was] the sin offering for the people, and slew4 it, and offered it for sin,17 as the first.

16

And he brought55 the burnt offering, and offered4 it according to the manner.

17

And he brought55 the meat offering, and took an handful17 3709 thereof, and burnt55 [it] upon the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning.

18

He slew4 also the bullock and the ram [for] a sacrifice of peace offerings, which [was] for the people: and Aaron's sons presented55 unto him the blood, which he sprinkled4 upon the altar round about,

19

And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth [the inwards], and the kidneys, and the caul [above] the liver:

20

And they put4 the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt55 the fat upon the altar:

21

And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved52 [for] a wave offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded.14

22

And Aaron lifted up4 his hand toward the people, and blessed17 them, and came down4 from offering2 of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.

23

And Moses and Aaron went4 into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out,4 and blessed17 the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared11 unto all the people.

24

And there came a fire out4 from before the LORD, and consumed4 upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: [which] when all the people saw,4 they shouted,4 and fell4 on their faces.
