The Book of Psalms

Chapter 28

1

[A Psalm] of David.
Unto thee will I cry,4 O LORD my rock; be not silent4 to me: lest, [if] thou be silent4 to me, I become like8 them that go down6 into the pit.

2

Hear3 the voice of my supplications, when I cry15 unto thee, when I lift up2 my hands toward thy holy oracle.

3

Draw4 me not away with the wicked, and with the workers6 of iniquity, which speak6 peace to their neighbours, but mischief [is] in their hearts.

4

Give3 them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give3 them after the work of their hands; render54 to them their desert.

5

Because they regard4 not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy4 them, and not build them up.4

6

Blessed7 [be] the LORD, because he hath heard1 the voice of my supplications.

7

The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted1 in him, and I am helped:8 therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;4 and with my song will I praise55 him.

8

The LORD [is] their strength, and he [is] the saving strength of his anointed.

9

Save54 thy people, and bless16 thine inheritance: feed3 them also, and lift them up16 for ever.
