Chapter 104

1

Bless16 the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great;1 thou art clothed1 with honour and majesty.

2

Who coverest6 [thyself] with light as [with] a garment: who stretchest out6 the heavens like a curtain:

3

Who layeth the beams18 of his chambers in the waters: who maketh6 the clouds his chariot: who walketh18 upon the wings of the wind:

4

Who maketh6 his angels spirits; his ministers18 a flaming6 fire:

5

[Who] laid1 the foundations of the earth, [that] it should not be removed11 for ever. 5703

6

Thou coveredst14 it with the deep as [with] a garment: the waters stood4 above the mountains.

7

At thy rebuke they fled;4 at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.11

8

They go up4 by the mountains; they go down4 by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded1 for them.

9

Thou hast set1 a bound that they may not pass over;4 that they turn not again4 to cover15 the earth.

10

He sendeth18 the springs into the valleys, [which] run17 among the hills.

11

They give drink55 to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench4 their thirst.

12

By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation,4 [which] sing4 6963 among the branches.

13

He watereth56 the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied4 with the fruit of thy works.

14

He causeth the grass to grow56 for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth53 food out of the earth;

15

And wine [that] maketh glad17 the heart of man, [and] oil to make [his] face to shine,53 and bread [which] strengtheneth4 man's heart.

16

The trees of the LORD are full4 [of sap]; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;1

17

Where the birds make their nests:17 [as for] the stork, the fir trees [are] her house.

18

The high hills [are] a refuge for the wild goats; [and] the rocks for the conies.

19

He appointed1 the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth1 his going down.

20

Thou makest4 darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep4 [forth].

21

The young lions roar6 after their prey, and seek15 their meat from God.

22

The sun ariseth,4 they gather11 themselves together, and lay them down4 in their dens.

23

Man goeth forth4 unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

24

O LORD, how manifold1 are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made1 them all: the earth is full1 of thy riches.

25

[So is] this great and wide 3027 sea, wherein [are] things creeping innumerable, 4557 both small and great beasts.

26

There go17 the ships: [there is] that leviathan, [whom] thou hast made1 to play15 therein.

27

These wait17 all upon thee; that thou mayest give2 [them] their meat in due season.

28

[That] thou givest4 them they gather:4 thou openest4 thine hand, they are filled4 with good.

29

Thou hidest55 thy face, they are troubled:11 thou takest away4 their breath, they die,4 and return4 to their dust.

30

Thou sendest17 forth thy spirit, they are created:11 and thou renewest17 the face of the earth.

31

The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice4 in his works.

32

He looketh56 on the earth, and it trembleth:4 he toucheth4 the hills, and they smoke.4

33

I will sing4 unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise17 to my God while I have my being.

34

My meditation of him shall be sweet:4 I will be glad4 in the LORD.

35

Let the sinners be consumed11 out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless16 thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise16 ye the LORD.
