Chapter 132

1

A Song of degrees.
LORD, remember3 David, [and] all his afflictions:28

2

How he sware8 unto the LORD, [and] vowed1 unto the mighty [God] of Jacob;

3

Surely I will not come4 into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up4 into my bed; 3326

4

I will not give4 sleep to mine eyes, [or] slumber to mine eyelids,

5

Until I find4 out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty [God] of Jacob.

6

Lo, we heard1 of it at Ephratah: we found1 it in the fields of the wood.

7

We will go4 into his tabernacles: we will worship101 at his footstool. 7272

8

Arise,3 O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

9

Let thy priests be clothed4 with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.17

10

For thy servant David's sake turn not away55 the face of thine anointed.

11

The LORD hath sworn8 [in] truth unto David; he will not turn4 from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set4 upon thy throne.

12

If thy children will keep4 my covenant and my testimony that 2097 I shall teach17 them, their children shall also sit4 upon thy throne for evermore.

13

For the LORD hath chosen1 Zion; he hath desired14 [it] for his habitation.

14

This [is] my rest for ever: here will I dwell;4 for I have desired14 it.

15

I will abundantly15 bless17 her provision: I will satisfy55 her poor with bread.

16

I will also clothe55 her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout17 aloud for joy.15

17

There will I make the horn of David to bud:55 I have ordained1 a lamp for mine anointed.

18

His enemies6 will I clothe55 with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.55
