Chapter 138

1

[A Psalm] of David.
I will praise55 thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise17 unto thee.

2

I will worship101 toward thy holy temple, and praise55 thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified52 thy word above all thy name.

3

In the day when I cried1 thou answeredst4 me, [and] strengthenedst55 me [with] strength in my soul.

4

All the kings of the earth shall praise55 thee, O LORD, when they hear1 the words of thy mouth.

5

Yea, they shall sing4 in the ways of the LORD: for great [is] the glory of the LORD.

6

Though the LORD [be] high,6 yet hath he respect4 unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth4 afar off.

7

Though I walk4 in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive17 me: thou shalt stretch forth4 thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies,6 and thy right hand shall save55 me.

8

The LORD will perfect4 [that which] concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever: forsake55 not the works of thine own hands.
