The Book of the Prophet Isaiah

Chapter 35

1

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad4 for them; and the desert shall rejoice,4 and blossom4 as the rose.

2

It shall blossom4 abundantly,2 and rejoice4 even with joy and singing:15 the glory of Lebanon shall be given8 unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see4 the glory of the LORD, [and] the excellency of our God.

3

Strengthen16 ye the weak hands, and confirm16 the feeble6 knees.

4

Say3 to them [that are] of a fearful12 heart, Be strong,3 fear4 not: behold, your God will come4 [with] vengeance, [even] God [with] a recompence; he will come4 and save55 you.

5

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,11 and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.11

6

Then shall the lame [man] leap17 as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing:4 for in the wilderness shall waters break out,8 and streams in the desert.

7

And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, [shall be] grass with reeds and rushes.

8

And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called11 The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over4 it; but it [shall be] for those: the wayfaring men,6 1870 though fools, shall not err4 [therein].

9

No lion shall be there, nor [any] ravenous beast shall go up4 thereon, it shall not be found11 there; but the redeemed7 shall walk1 [there]:

10

And the ransomed7 of the LORD shall return,4 and come1 to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain55 joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.1
