The Third Book of Moses, called Leviticus

Chapter 12

1

And the LORD spake17 unto Moses, saying,2

2

Speak16 unto the children of Israel, saying,2 If a woman have conceived seed,55 and born1 a man child: then she shall be unclean1 seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity2 shall she be unclean.4

3

And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.11

4

And she shall then continue4 in the blood of her purifying three 3117 and thirty days; she shall touch4 no hallowed thing, nor come4 into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.2

5

But if she bear4 a maid child, then she shall be unclean1 two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue4 in the blood of her purifying threescore 3117 and six days.

6

And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled,2 for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring55 a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:

7

Who shall offer52 it before the LORD, and make an atonement14 for her; and she shall be cleansed1 from the issue of her blood. This [is] the law for her that hath born6 a male or a female.

8

And if she be not able 1767 to bring4 a lamb, then she shall bring1 two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement14 for her, and she shall be clean.1
