And I said,4 Hear,3 I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; [Is it] not for you to know2 judgment?
Who hate6 the good, and love6 the evil; who pluck off6 their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
Who also eat1 the flesh of my people, and flay52 their skin from off them; and they break14 their bones, and chop them in pieces,1 as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
Then shall they cry4 unto the LORD, but he will not hear4 them: he will even hide55 his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill52 in their doings.
Thus saith1 the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err,56 that bite6 with their teeth, and cry,1 Peace; and he that putteth4 not into their mouths, they even prepare14 war against him.
Therefore night [shall be] unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark1 2821 unto you, that ye shall not divine;2 and the sun shall go down1 over the prophets, and the day shall be dark1 over them.
Then shall the seers be ashamed,1 and the diviners6 confounded:1 yea, they shall all cover1 their lips; for [there is] no answer of God.
But truly I am full1 of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare53 unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
Hear3 this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor18 judgment, and pervert17 all equity.
They build up6 Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
The heads thereof judge4 for reward, and the priests thereof teach55 for hire, and the prophets thereof divine4 for money: yet will they lean11 upon the LORD, and say,2 [Is] not the LORD among us? none evil can come4 upon us.
Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed11 [as] a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
